The Deputy Director of SFT, Tenzin Dorjee (Tendor) in Japan

SFT Japan is happy to announce that we will be playing host to the Deputy Director of SFT, Tenzin Dorjee (Tendor), this May 7th to 13th. During his stay, SFT Japan has many activities planned. We hope to see as many of you as possible, so please come out and join us. Tendor acts as a representative and speaks for the young generation of the Tibetan community in exile. Doing things like speaking to the media and engaging political figures in dialog, Tendor is active in coordinating with various organizations. We expect Tendor's visit to be this years highlight for Free Tibet activists in Japan.

Symposium "Supporting Tibet - What we can do to help"

While the term "Tibet Support" can be said as a single phrase, it actually encompasses various groups such as the Refugee Community in India (that has formed the Tibetan Government in Exile), ethnic Tibetans in Nepal, and Tibetans inside of Tibet. On this occasion we will be welcoming Tenzin Dorjee (Tendor), who has been working to shift the focus of activism from large events and concerts towards a direct focus on Tibet. As we hear about actual activism, this is an opportunity to discuss the possibilities, and limits, of supporting Tibet from overseas. At the same time as we think about examples of activism in Japan, we can also compare it to how things are done differently in the US. and consider what can be done here and now in Japan moving forward.
